USA, MI: Elk Brewing Company permanently closing its Comstock Park location
A sad day has come for many beer enthusiasts in the Grand Rapids area with Elk Brewing Company permanently closing its Comstock Park location, MLive.com reported on January 11.
The brewery, located at 400 Dodge Street, is enjoying its last week of operation with Sunday, January 16 announced as its last day, according to Elk Brewing’s Facebook post.
The joint near the Fifth Third Ballpark opened in 2016. The 5,000 square-foot space with rustic garage doors held about 100 people inside and 120 on the outdoor patio.
“This was a very hard decision, and we thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for your support over the years,” the Facebook post said.
Elk Brewing did not respond to requests for information about the reason for closing its second location before publication.
Officials said on Facebook that it is extending Mug Club pricing to its loyal Mug Clubbers throughout this week, as well as $1 off all full pours to the general public, the Facebook post said. There is also a $1 off all Crowlers/Howlers and $2 off Growlers all week.
Although one location is closing, the Grand Rapids taproom at 700 Wealthy Street remains open and will continue normal operations.
The hours for Comstock Park are listed as Sunday through Thursday 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and 11 a.m. to midnight on Friday and Saturday.
