USA, FL: Good Liquid Brewing Co. to close its location in Brandenton

After recently opening a new brewpub location in Lakewood Ranch's Waterside Place development, a local brewery announced it is closing its original taproom, the Sarasota Herald-Tribune reported on April 28.

Good Liquid Brewing Co. will close its location at 4824 14th St. W. in Bradenton's Fountains Plaza after a final day of business April 30, the brewery announced on social media. The Waterside Place location at 1570 Lakefront Drive, which opened toward the end of last year, will remain in business.

Co-owners Mike and Sandra Krail opened the original Bradenton Good Liquid location in 2017. They later partnered with Joe Guli, current CEO of the Sarasota-based Tableseide Restaurant Group that operates Libby's Neighborhood Brasserie and Circo, to open the Waterside Place Good Liquid location that also offers a full food menu.

"From food truck rallies, Oktoberfests, sour bashes, baby showers, gender reveals, and multiple milestone parties, we have made great friends and awesome memories here," Good Liquid's post read. "After an amazing 4 1/2 years, we have decided to focus our efforts on other upcoming opportunities."

Those include plans to open new brewery/restaurant locations and distilleries in the future, according to the post, though further details were not immediately available. Good Liquid is known for its inventive brews, such as a Mixed Berry Jalapeno Cream Ale and Honey Rye Pale Ale, with the Waterside Place location also serving liquor.

Sarasota-Manatee's brewery scene has gone through dramatic changes in the past few years. Sarasota's Big Top Brewing Company left its original location last year and moved into the space of craft beer bar Cock & Bull, also taking over the Lakewood Ranch taproom formerly known as Naughty Monk, and planning a new location in the Fruitville Commons development.

Bradenton's Darwin Brewing Co. sold its brand to the Clearwater-based Big Storm Brewing Co., and its former taproom now houses a second location for Tampa's Magnanimous Brewing. JDub's Brewing Company closed its original Sarasota taproom, now set to become a new location for the Indiana-based Sun King Brewery, while fellow Sarasota brewery Calusa Brewing bought the former property of restaurant, bar and country music nightclub White Buffalo Saloon.

The final days that Good Liquid's Bradenton taproom will be open are 2-9 p.m. Thursday, April 28 and noon-10 p.m. Friday, April 29 and Saturday, April 30. Good Liquid's Lakewood Ranch location is currently open daily at 11 a.m.
