Canada, BC: Bayview Brewing now open in Ladysmith
A new brewery and taproom that’s been in the works for half a decade is now open in Ladysmith, a town located south of Nanaimo on the eastern shore of Vancouver Island, the Canadian Beer News reported on May 2.
Bayview Brewing has been founded by Rod Alsop and Jon Ludtke, two friends who started planning the project in 2017, and were more recently joined by Ludtke’s homebrewing partner Alfred Elviss.
The Bayview taproom opened to the public last Friday April 29th with an opening beer line-up that leans towards sour ales, with pale ales and IPAs soon to follow.
The food menu features a variety of appetizers, bowls, sandwiches and wraps, with several vegetarian/vegan and gluten-free options.
Bayview Brewing is located at 204 Dogwood Drive in Ladysmith, and is open from 11:00 AM daily, closing at 9:00 PM on Sunday to Thursday, and 11:00 PM on Friday and Saturday.
