USA, PA: Lavery Brewing Company just hours away from opening

Finishing touches are underway at Lavery Brewing Company, the Erie News Now reported on April 27.

With a grand reopening just hours away, owner Jason Lavery is all smiles with a few nerves.

"I'm so excited," he said. "I'm really excited for Erie to see it. We're pumped."

Since buying the former Hungry Howie's, Lavery set about expanding his downtown business.

He's torn down walls, installed a brand new, larger bar and created a full kitchen with an expanded menu.

"We have a griddle and four burners and a pretty awesome pizza oven and a little fryer," he noted.

A facelift of sorts, much like the ones other parts of downtown Erie are seeing.

Lavery says he's proud to be part of that construction, taking an active role in rebuilding his home.

"Bringing people in from out of town like we tend to do with tourists and family and friends, people see all these cranes erecting new buildings and all this construction everywhere, it's awesome to be a part of that," he said. "I feel like Erie's on the upward swing and trajectory, and we're glad to be a part of it."

The countdown is nearly over, with a grand reveal set for noon Friday, April 28.

“We are optimistic we are prepared we are ready for everyone to see what we have built here,” Lavery said smiling.
