India: UB group chairman Vijay Mallya said United Breweries’ open offer for rival spirit company Shaw Wallace will begin from April 18 as scheduled, India Infoline communicated on March 5. According to Mr Mallya, the open offer proceedings would not be affected by the Calcutta High Court’s order on Thursday restraining Shaw Wallace (SWC) from selling its shares, brands and assets.Mallya’s statement came amidst market speculation that the High Court’s order would delay UB’s open offer proceedings.
