USA, WA: Bickersons Brewhouse to close brewery, taproom in Seattle’s Ballard neighbourhood
Bickersons Brewhouse announced on August 5 it will close the brewery and taproom in Seattle’s Ballard neighborhood, effective Friday, August 29th. The closing does not impact the company’s other location in Renton.
Frank Castro, one of the owners, said they are looking for a buyer to take over the Ballard location. This is an excellent opportunity for the right buyer to acquire a turnkey brewery and taproom in the vibrant, population-dense, and beer-friendly Ballard neighborhood. The brewery features a 20-barrel brewhouse, and the taproom includes a spacious beer garden, offering plenty of potentials.
In March 2022, Bickersons Brewhouse took over the former home of Pedder Brewing at 1514 Leary Way NW in Seattle. This was the company’s second location. The original location in Renton opened in late 2019, just a few months before the pandemic forced many businesses to shut down. Suffice it to say, Bickersons has faced several challenges in its history, including non-business-related issues.
Frank explained that a new challenge makes it unfeasible for the company to continue operating both locations: “Our co-owner, Shaunn, has been diagnosed with advanced-stage cancer. We cannot continue to run two locations while ensuring Shaunn receives the care she needs.”
“We would like to thank the Ballard community for welcoming us over the past three years, as well as the Ballard Brewed Coalition,” said Frank. “Bickersons Renton remains unaffected at this time and will continue to operate.”
