Germany: Regional overview of barley harvests
The barley harvesting on the sandy soils along the Rhine, is complete, results were poor for yields and grain size. What is interesting, is that protein contents were absolutely good at 10 - 11 %.
Continuing into the hilly areas of SouthwestGermany, the barley looked far better. As well the first results from South Bavaria and Lower Saxony are good. If the weather allows a regular harvesting season, Germany may finally collect a good barley crop.
