USA: USDA’s last S&D Projections for barley in MY 05/06

USDA posted on in its Grain Report from January 12 that world barley production is projected to decrease 11.8% to 135.2 MMT. US production fell 24.3% to 4.6 MMT.

World barley supplies are estimated to decrease by 4.4% to 167.7 MMT. US supplies decreased by 14.9% to 7.4 MMT.

World barley trade is expected to decrease by 2.1% to 16.9 MMT. US exports are expected to decrease 60% to .300 MMT.

World barley consumption is pegged to decrease slightly to 142.9 MMT. US usage projected to decrease by 19% to 4.6 MMT.

World barley carryover stocks are estimated to decrease 23.7% to 24.8 MMT. US carryout is projected to decrease by 14% to 2.4 MMT.
