Czech Republic: Budvar Dark to arrive bottled
Czech brewer Budweiser Budvar is planning the arrival in bottle form of Budvar Dark, which has been available in draught format for the on-trade since 2004, following its debut at Camra’s Great British Beer Festival in that year.
A 500ml bottle version of the 4.7 per cent ABV brand will complement the existing draught form. Budweiser Budvar spokesman Denis Cox said: “It’s taken 18 months to get the beer out over here, but this is a case where time definitely is not of the essence.”
The beer, which is made from four different malts and brewed for at least 90 days, made its well-received UK debut at the June 2004 Bar Show, and was last year acclaimed as Best Imported Beer by the Campaign for Real Ale at its London Drinker Beer & Cider Festival.
