South Korea: Oriental Brewery Co. launches renewed beer product
Oriental Brewery Co., South Korea's second-largest brewery, launched a new beer product June 26, Asia Pulse said the same day.
Dubbed "OB Blue," the beer is a revamp of the brewery's main OB beer, first introduced into the nation's market in 1948. The brewery earlier re-named its OB beer to OB Lager in 1995 and just OB in 2003.
"We will keep making efforts to meet the ever-changing tastes of South Korean customers based on our world-class technology," company president Kim Jun-young said.
While Hite Co. dominates the market with a 60 per cent market share as of May, Oriental Brewery trails with 40 per cent, according to industry sources.
