Ukraine: Barley harvest up by 55% year-on-year as of August 01 2006

Ukraine's farmers harvested 6.86 million tonnes as of August 01, the country's State Statistics Committee said August 10. This is up 55% on the year, the committee said.

Barley yields were higher on the year, amounting to 2.34 tonnes per hectare against 2.08 tonnes per hectare last season.
