Australia: Barley crop forecast reduced to 7 million tons
Following continuing drought problems, Australian Crop Forecasters have reduced their estimate of the 2006/07 barley crop to 7 million t, meaning that the forecast has reduced by 30% over the last two months. The group also says that the estimate could be reduced further if drought conditions persist, Home-Grown Cereals Authority (HGCA) released August 29.
