UK: Greene King quarter-sales rose 5% to July 30 2006
British pub company Greene King said September 01 that comparable pub company sales rose 5% in the thirteen weeks to July 30, while sales at its tenancy and lease division rose 1%, MarketWatch unveiled September 01.
Greene King's brewing company saw strong beer volumes during the World Cup and hot weather, while trading in Scotland has been variable after the introduction of the smoking ban. Margins have remained robust across all four divisions and overall trading has been in line with expectations, the company said.
