EU: EU barley exports face a rough competition from Black Sea origin barley exports on the international market
Despite export adjudications organized by the European Commission on the basis of barley interventions stocks of the new EU members (Czech Republic, Poland, Lithuania, Hungary, Slovakia, Estonia) and Finland , export licences for barley intervention stocks had their limit of 0.3 million t in early October, ONIGC (Office Interprofessionnel des Grandes Cultures) released October 10. There are of course some additional exports licences of “common right” without compensation, which can be attributed to malting barley exports.
Overall, the amount of barley export licences are beneath 0.4 million t since the beginning of the campaign (against 1.1 million t year-on-year).
