UK: Diageo will trial new Guinness Red in pubs
Diageo has confirmed it is to trial Guinness Red, a new variant of the traditional stout, The Publican published October 26. The new red version of the “Black stuff” is set to be tested in a number of pubs.
A spokeswoman confirmed: “We are expecting to trial Guinness Red in a limited number of pubs within Great Britain in the coming months, however no decision has yet been made with regards to the details of this test.”
The new Guinness will be lightly roasted to give it a rich red colour and a well-balanced bitter sweet character.
Guinness is distributed in more than 150 countries. There are currently three variants of Guinness available in Great Britain and five worldwide.
