USA: Anheuser Busch introduces new technology which drives the beer to 22° F without freezing it
Brewery news

A report released November 09th by Convenience Store Decision Said that Anheuser-Busch has introduced the Chill Chamber, its new method of keeping beer colder than ever. The Chill Chamber uses super-cooling technology to take the temperature of beer in aluminum bottles as low as 22° F or 10° F colder than ice, without freezing it. This proprietary technology, developed by Hussmann Corp., a business of diversified industrial company Ingersoll Rand, allows retail establishments to deliver significantly colder beer than ever available in the United States.

"We know today's consumers want choices—and they like their beer cold," said Gary Goldstein, vice president of on-premise National Retail Sales for Anheuser-Busch Inc. "Innovation is key to reaching new consumers and increasing customer satisfaction. The Chill Chamber provides a distinct point of difference that offers consumers a unique beer drinking experience. It is another example of our commitment to bring new tools to the industry."

Traditional cooling systems are unable to chill beer as low as 22° F without freezing, but the Chill Chamber is able to do this with new state-of-the-art technology. This keeps the beer colder an average of 17 minutes longer than conventional refrigeration. The units include a large digital temperature display that communicates the product temperature to consumers. The Chill Chambers also have unique glass doors engineered to eliminate condensation, thus serving as a great display unit for the aluminum bottles and generating consumer interest in the product.
