| E-Malt.com News article: Czech Republic: Body wraps in brewers' grains from May
A brewery that opened the first beer baths in the Czech Republic would start offering body wraps in brewers' grains from May, according to the CTK news agency, March 14.
The Chodovar brewery's beer baths had become a success and, along with other related services, accounted for one-third of its 2006 revenue of 150 million koruna (R52 million), CTK reported.
The brewery will increase its capacity from 89 to 120 beds and hire 10 more people to help it expand the tourist activities.
But there is another type of bath on the market. An Irish company has used its experience in the dairy sector to develop a novel treatment of the lumps and bumps that can so easily knock a horse out of contention for major racing events.
The Coldstream Equine Spa is a spa bath for horses that bathes their legs in chilled saline water. The product is the brainchild of Paddy Smee of Kilkenny Cooling Systems, a leading Irish manufacturer of refrigerated bulk tanks.
