Taiwan beer is popular in diplomatic circles of the World Trade Organization (WTO) in Geneva, Taiwan's representative to the WTO Lin Yi-fu said, according to Asia Pulse, September 25.
Lin introduced Taiwan beer to other countries' representatives at the WTO at an unofficial cocktail party Sept. 22, which drew more than 100 participants, including mission chiefs of WTO member economies.
The party followed a friendly golf match among representatives on that same day, Lin said.
In order to upgrade Taiwan's international profile, Lin decided to include Taiwan Beer among the party's drinks, which were sponsored by different countries' representatives. The beer was a popular alternative among party participants for being very different from other choices of beverages, Lin said.
Lin said he also introduced moon cakes to party participants as the traditional Chinese mid-Autumn Festival is approaching.
Ambassadors of India, Japan, South Korea, Pakistan, Switzerland, Argentina, and former ambassador of the European Union, all participated in the party, Lin said.
