Young and Co.'s Brewery, the British brewing conglomerate, announced that it is interested in acquiring the pub operator, Porter Black Holdings, the privately-held pub company, which went into receivership earlier this week, The Times said in a statement. Porter Black owns 32 pubs and has a turnover of around GBP 15m. Youngs is not the only bidder for Porter Black. Youngs is also thought to have contacted Scottish & Newcastle with a view to acquiring part of the group's pub estate, valued at GBP 2.5 billion.
