Kirin Brewery Co, the Japanese brewer, has signed an agreement with the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) to sponsor the federation's international soccer events from June 2003 to May 2005. The AFC organizes the regional qualifiers for the World Cup, the Asia Cup and final preliminary matches for the Olympics. The AFC is affiliated to FIFA and comprises soccer associations from 44 countries.
