Fuller, Smith & Turner, one of London's last remaining brewers, reported a 16 percent rise in first half profit and said it is well prepared for the first winter of the smoking ban, according to Reuters, November 23.
The London Pride brewer posted pretax profit of 12.7 million pounds in the 26 weeks to September 29, on revenue up 3 percent to 93.3 million pounds.
"Although it is still too early to definitively discern the true impact of the smoking ban, we approach the winter with cautious optimism," Fuller's said in a statement.
