Baltika, the top Russian beer brand, will be launched in the United Kingdom this week. The action is a part of Scottish & Newcastle's strategy to develop its regional brands internationally, Scottish & Newcastle reported in a statement. Baltika is a subsidiary of Baltic Beverage Holding, a 50/50 joint venture between S&N and Carlsberg. Baltika has a 13% share of the Russian beer market and is described by S&N as a "significant" asset.
