E-Malt.com News article: USA: Amphire to sell beer through Barbox online ordering service

Software-as-a-Service company Amphire Solutions Inc. said on August 3 it agreed to buy Barbox, a joint venture between Coors Brewers and Scottish & Newcastle, San Jose Business Journal reported on August 4.

Redwood City-based Amphire did not disclose financial terms of the deal.

U.K.-based Barbox is an online ordering service for the beer, wines and spirits trade.

"The combination of Barbox and Amphire creates a powerful market leader in foodservice and hospitality with tremendous growth potential in the global beer, wines and spirits sector," said Amphire CEO Mark Barnekow.

Amphire said that because it has focused on food service and hospitality and Barbox has focused on beer, wines and spirits, the combination "produces a logical and robust set of solutions and customers."
