SABMiller has announced the appointment of a new managing director for its Miller Brands company, the Morning Advertiser reported on August 19.

Sales director Nick Miller will replace current managing director Gary Whitlie, who heads to take up the same position in SABMiller’s Hungarian business, Dreher Breweries Ltd.

Nick Miller joined Miller Brands in October 2005 and has over 20 years of industry experience in sales, strategic projects and marketing with Coors and Bass.

He said: “I am delighted to accept the responsibility of leading the next chapter of success for Miller Brands.

“I am personally sad to see Gary go and I wish him every success in Hungary. We remain committed at Miller Brands to driving the development of SABMiller’s premium brands in the UK, including Peroni Nastro Azzurro, Pilsner Urquell and Miller Genuine Draft.”

Miller Brands sales are currently growing in excess of 30 per cent year-on-year.

Miller Brands and Dreher Breweries are both subsidiaries of global brewer SABMiller.
