E-Malt.com News article: Switzerland: Feldschlösschen brewery to increase prices by 4.5% from the beginning of 2009

Switzerland’s leading brewer Feldschlösschen announced it would increase price for its beer by average 4.5% since the beginning of 2009, the AWP informed on September, 30.

Prices for draft beer will add up to 20 centimes as of January, 1.

The company explained the increase by growing raw materials and energy costs. Malt prices were up by 40% during the January – August period, and hops prices soared by astonishing 400%. Glass and aluminium have also become more expensive, the brewers complain.
