| E-Malt.com News article: Portugal: Beer is a favourite drink of 49.4% of respondents in a recent study
A study carried out by the National Association of Alcoholic Beverages (ANEBE) has shown that seven in ten Portuguese who go out at night always drink alcoholic beverages, whilst 13.3 percent drink occasionally and 12.2 percent rarely drink, The Portugal News Online posted on May, 9.
The study, which comprises interviews with 842 people, revealed that over 63 percent try to consume little or moderately when they go out, 57 percent saying they don’t drive under the influence of alcohol and 26 percent choosing to ride in the car with a driver who has not touched a drop.
The study also showed that the national population prefers wine (65.1 percent) and beer (38.7 percent) to accompany their meals, whilst beer (49.4 percent) is their favourite beverage when they go out, followed by vodka (46.6 percent) and pre-mixed drinks (43.6 percent).
