| E-Malt.com News article: Canada: Miller Genuine Draft now available in recyclable plastic bottles
Miller Canada, in partnership with Molson, has begun selling Miller Genuine Draft (MGD) in recyclable plastic bottles through the LCBO, becoming the first super premium beer in Canada to offer widespread distribution in clear plastic containers, Marketwire reported on June, 10.
This flexible packaging option offers many benefits over traditional glass and cans, including quick chilling, retaining cold longer than glass and cans, being re-sealable and virtually unbreakable.
"The MGD clear plastic bottle is a natural fit for indoor and outdoor settings where glass is not appropriate, such as around the pool, at the beach and on the golf course," said Peter Bombaci, Senior Brand Manager, Miller Genuine Draft. "Our message in a bottle for Canadians is clear: we want to help you make the most of your summer beer occasions."
Following positive consumer adoption in the U.S., the decision was made to bring the format to Ontario in time for the busy summer beer season.
The MGD Clear Plastic Bottle is available now in single 341 ml format at LCBO locations across the province. The MGD Clear Plastic Bottle retails for C$2.50.
