| E-Malt.com News article: The Czech Republic: Spring barley production expected to amount to 1.33 mln tons
The Czech Statistical Office (CSU) said on July, 15 that it expects this year's harvest of spring barley to amount to 1.33 mln tons.
Spring barley accounts for 12.6% of the country’s total grain acreage. Yield will fall by some 10 percent to 4.17 tonnes per hectare, CSU said.
The forthcoming harvest is influenced by weather, in particular cold May and June with high precipitation. Moreover, the year 2008, as well as the year 2004, were the most productive in the history of the Czech Republic.
