| E-Malt.com News article: United Kingdom: Molson Coors to hike beer prices too
Molson Coors has announced a wholesale price rise of 7p per pint on all package and draught products, which will take effect in March, The Morning Advertiser posted on January, 19.
This equates to a 4.8% increase, inclusive of duty, but a 50 litre keg of Magners — which it distributes on draught for C&C Group — will be frozen at its 2009 price.
“Molson Coors (UK) reviews wholesale prices once a year and these changes reflect the current costs associated with producing, distributing and supporting our brands,” the company said in a statement.
The move follows news that Heineken beers will go up by 4p a pint, its ciders by 5p, while InBev will increase prices by 4p, and Diageo by 5.1%.
