| E-Malt.com News article: World: Graincorp Malt CEO decides to leave the malting industry
Graincorp Ltd's chief executive for the company's malt business Jim Anderson has resigned, but will stay on as a consultant, the company announced on February, 23.
Graincorp interim chief executive Ian Wilson said Mr Anderson, Graincorp Malt chief executive, had resigned to take up another role outside the malt sector.
"Jim and his team did an excellent job building the former United Malt Holdings group of companies into the efficient and competitive suppliers of high quality malt they are today," Mr Wilson said in a statement.
"The consultant agreement we have with Jim will allow us to continue to implement the individual regional strategic plans, and the overarching Graincorp Malt strategic plan, discussed at the 3rd February investor day."
Mr Anderson's resignation becomes effective on March 1.
With the acquisition of Canada Malting Company (Canada), Great Western Malting (USA), Barids Malt (UK) and Barrett Burston Malting (Australia), GrainCorp is now the fourth largest commercial malt producer in the world.
GrainCorp’s 14 malt houses produce up to 1 million tonnes of malt per year for some of the world’s leading brewers and distillers.
