| E-Malt.com News article: France & Italy: Japan’s Asahi Super Dry beer now available in its original ‘steiny bottle’
Japanese beer Asahi Super Dry has become available to consumers in France and Italy thanks to Russia’s Baltika Breweries, the leading Russian beer maker announced on February, 24.
The first containers with the beer in original 0.44l ‘steiny bottles’ were shipped from Baltika’s St Petersburg facility in December 2009. The total volume of the shipment amounted to 35 thousand litres.
“The contract on licensed production of Asahi beers for the EU markets confirm once again Baltika’s reputation as a reliable partner and producer of quality beer,” a Baltika representative commented.
Japan’s best selling beer, Asahi Super Dry is exported to more than 40 countries across the world and is brewed under license in the Czech Republic, the UK, Canada, Thailand, and Russia. However, the special equipment for producing the beer in its original 0.44L bottle is only installed in Japan and Russia.
