Malteurop announcing the signature of a long term agreement with Sun Interbrew Limited, a subsidiary of the Belgian group Interbrew.



Within the frame of this agreement, related to its Ukrainian activities, Malteurop:

- Acquires the existing malting plant of Desna (Chernigov)

- Will invest additionally in the construction of a new malting plant in Kharkov, to be completed by the beginning of 2004

- Will promote and support the cultivation of domestic quality malting barley

- Is appointed as long term supplier of high quality malt to all Sun Intrebrew Limited breweries in Ukraine.



Sun Interbrew Limited is the largest Ukrainian brewer in a country producing 13 million hectolitres of beer annually.



Through this major agreement, Malteurop confirms its strategy of partnership with the major players in brewing industry and strengthens its European industrial and agricultural network.



After completion of the new constructions in Ukraine, Malteurop should produce 135.000 tons locally and dispose of a total malting capacity exceeding one million tons.
