Beer sales on the Lithuanian beer market decreased by 7.7% in the first 11 month of the year, Lithuanian Brewers' Association has recently posted. There was sold about 221.65 million litres of beer on the local market for the period. In November 2003 sales volumes dropped by 5.9% versus November 2002. Lithuanian Brewers' Association’s president, Audrius Vidzys, attributed the decline to the success of producers of strong alcoholic beverages, which have raised their sales more than 200%. He said they had "snatched away a significant market share from domestic brewers."
