A small business was on the "bucket list" for a couple of Cheboygan men, and on May, 27, the Cheboygan Brewing Company opened its doors, UpNorthLive.com reports.

Work on the brewery has been ongoing all year and finally people got their first taste of the German-style beer the brewery has been perfecting.

Mark Lorenz and Jamie McClurg are the owners of the brewery, and they say they decided to turn their dream into a reality and they hope it'll bring new jobs to the struggling Cheboygan economy.

"Bottom line is we have a lot of pride in this community, and actually as Jamie and I worked on this project, we've had people knocking on the door wanting to come in, so we're excited," said Lorenz.

"One of the bucket list items was wanting to go into a small business, and we started talking and he said, 'hey, microbrewing business is doing pretty well,' and he said, 'what do you think about microbrewing beer?' I said, 'let's do it!' So yeah, it's one on the bucket list and we're really excited," added Lorenz.
