E-Malt.com News article: US, NY: City of Binghamton gives a boost to the brewing business

Binghamton, NY, plans to give a boost to an emerging business as it approves a $70000 dollar loan to Bleichert Brewing Incorporated, WBNG-TV announced on June, 22. The money will assist the company in buying brewing equipment and to be used as start-up funds.

With the loan, Bleichert Brewing is required to create at least two jobs. Council says these types of loans are crucial to local development.

"I believe and my colleges on council believe that small business is the way to grow our economic climate here in the city. So that's one of the ways we're looking to do that by really promoting small businesses”, says Councilwoman Lea Webb.

The company plans to open within the next year in the city's 4th District at 168 Water Street.
