| E-Malt.com News article: USA, MT: Bozeman Brewing Company to start canning its beer
Bozeman Brewing Company customers will soon be able to find their favorite beers in local stores, The Bozeman Daily Chronicle reported on October, 28.
“People have asked for this for quite awhile,” owner Todd Scott said on October, 27. “We’ve continually said, ‘In a couple years,’ but we’ve been saying that, well, for a couple of years now.”
The brewery plans to have six-packs of its signature beer, Amber Select, in Bozeman area stores late November or December.
The Bozeman Brewing Company was started in 2001. Its beers are served in more than 150 bars and restaurants in Southwest Montana. The brewery opened a tasting room in 2005.
Tucker Karlberg, brewer sales representative, said the brewery’s new five-head Cask automatic canning machine can produce about 24 to 30 cans of beer per minute.
The brewery chose aluminum cans over glass bottles because they’re recyclable, keep light out and hold carbonation better, Karlberg said. Not to mention they’re “recreation friendly.”
“We want to go pass them out in the lift line at Bridger (Bowl) – on those rare occasions when there is a lift line,” Scott said.
While the brewery is starting with their flagship beer and hometown market, the company plans to eventually branch out and offer more varieties in more places.
The company makes seasonal brews like Terroir, which was blended with 180 pounds of local hops, and Watershed Pale Ale, which benefit the Greater Gallatin Watershed Council. Another brew, Buzzkill Java Stout, contains coffee from Bozeman’s Rockford Coffee.
On the labels of the brewery’s new 12-ounce Amber Select cans, there’s a new slogan: “Drink ‘til MT.”
