Mark Sellers, the owner of Hopcat and other downtown bars, bought the assets of Grand Rapids Brewing Co. when it closed and planned to move it to the former Founders Brewing Co. site in the Brass Works building, Mlive.com reported on January, 20.

A Grand Rapids Planning Commission meeting agenda for January, 26, includes a permit request from Sellers. But he said his plans for a brewpub and Kansas City barbecue restaurant with two on-site banquet rooms now are up in the air.

“I’m not sure where or when it’s happening. It’s all uncertain,” Sellers said. “We’re not going into the Brass Works (building).”

Sellers said the timeframe for a Grand Rapids Brewing Co. re-opening, if it happens, is undetermined.
