E-Malt.com News article: USA, GA: Sweet Grass Dairy and Terrapin Beer Company team up
Brewery news

Sweet Grass Dairy, one of the nation’s premier family-owned handcrafted cheesemakers and Terrapin Beer Company, one of the country’s finest awarding winning micro breweries, announce a new partnership linking two of Georgia’s fastest growing small businesses, Craftbeer.com reported on March, 30.

“Cheese and beer share a fundamental history, and as both companies are craft producers here in Georgia, it feels very natural for us to come together collaboratively," said Terrapin Founder/President John Cochran.

Sweet Grass Dairy owners Jeremy and Jessica Little wholeheartedly agree.

“This is as exciting as it gets for us as cheesemakers,” said the Littles. “Everyone at Terrapin is dedicated and focused on making the quality products without compromising. We think that’s why this is a perfect collaboration.”

To start the new alliance, a ‘Terrapin Takeover’ is planned at Sweet Grass Dairy’s Cheese Shop in downtown Thomasville for Saturday, April 21. The event will feature several unique Terrapin brews and door prizes.

"We're excited to share with folks how well the amazing cheeses at Sweet Grass can work with our beers," said Cochran. "Much like with wine, it's a very traditional pairing that goes way back."

Over the last several months, owners and employees from both companies forged friendships while working together to create special cheeses for local distribution only. In the near future, SGD anticipates using select Terrapin brews for special beer washed cheeses.

“This was an opportunity we could not pass up,” said the Littles. “We have one of the best breweries in the nation right in our backyard. It just makes sense. Plus, this is only the beginning.”
