Serbia: Carlsberg Breweries announced on February 10 that it had appointed Boguslaw Bartczak as Chief Executive Officer of Pivara Celarevo brewery in Serbia. He comes from a position of Vice President of Operations in Carlsberg Okocim. At the same time, Philip Davis is appointed Chief Financial Officer at the brewery.

Boguslaw Bartczak's main task will be to build the sales and distribution department, and develop the local brand Lav and international brands of the Carlsberg Breweries group. In Poland, he was involved in the integration of the Kasztelan, Bosman, Piast and Okocim brewery operations departments as Supply Chain Director. He joined the Executive Board of Carlsberg Okocim S.A. in March 2003 as Vice President of Operations.

Philip Davis is currently finishing an MBA at IMD in Lausanne. He has seven years' experience in international shipping in the former Soviet Union. Pivara Celarevo is Serbia's third beer producer in terms of volume. In 2002, Celarevo sold 780,000 hl of beer which represents a 15% market share. Same year the Serbs drank 5m hl of beer. Carlsberg Breweries acquired 51% of Pivara Celarevo in September 2003.

Founded over 150 years ago in Copenhagen, Denmark, Carlsberg Breweries is a major international brewer. It is owned 60/40 by Denmark’s Carlsberg A/S and Norway’s Orkla ASA. It sells beer, soft drinks and water in about 150 markets. Brewing takes place at 103 production sites in 49 countries. Its Carlsberg and Tuborg brands are among the most widely sold beers in the world.
