The European Brewery Convention announced that on 1 January 2004 Croatia joined EBC as new member. Croatia will be represented by the 'Affiliation of Beer, Malt and Hop Producers' of the Croatian Chamber of Economy. With Croatia joining, EBC now has 23 members, the organisations representing the national brewing industry of the following countries: Austria – Belgium – Bulgaria – Croatia – Czech Republic – Denmark – Finland – France – Germany – Great Britain – Hungary – Ireland – Italy – Latvia – The Netherlands – Norway – Portugal – Romania – Slovakia – Slovenia – Spain – Sweden – Switzerland.
