Ukraine’s parliament Verkhovna Rada has approved in first reading a new bill implying an around 11% increase in excise taxes on alcohol, Interfax reported on October, 3.

The new taxes will come into force on the 1st of January, 2013.

Beer taxes will increase from the current UAH0.81/litre to UAH0.9/litre.
