E-Malt.com News article: Russia: Total grain and barley harvest progress slower than last year

The Russian Ministry of Agriculture reported last week that as of September 25, 2012, 65.1 mln tonnes (bunker weight) of grain were harvested from an area of 35.5 mln ha. (vs. 83.8 mln tonnes harvested from 36.2 mln ha at the same time last year).

The barley harvest stood at 14.0 mln tonnes (16.7 mln tonnes at the same time in 2011) from an area of 7.4 mln ha (7.3) at an average yield of 1.88 t/ha (2.3).
