Azerbaijani beer producer Baltika-Baku intends to begin production of international brands, ABC.az reported on November, 23.
Its general director Alexey Skatin says that the enterprise has already invested $20 million in this project.
"Now we have determined with new areas for investment – upgrade of production, modernization of commercial equipment and investment in human resources," he added.
According to Skatin, within the modernization it is planned to improve production lines and manufacture of international brands, as the company has been already making Carlsberg, Tuborg and Zatecky Gus beers that are not inferior to the quality of international standard. Modernization of commercial equipment includes updating of refrigerators installed at points of sale.
"One of the priorities, of course, is the modernization of the local brand Khirdalan, which is so popular among local consumers and will be exported," Skatin said.
The general director declined to disclose the total investments in the project.
