The Massachusetts Brewers Guild has appointed Kristen Sykes as its first executive director, Drinks Business Review reported on December, 27.

Established in 2007, the Guild aims to protect and promote craft brewing business in Massachusetts, US.

Massachusetts Brewers Guild and Ipswich Ale Brewery president Rob Martin was quoted by Pressmentor.com as saying that Kristen will fulfil the Guild's goal to promote Massachusetts craft beer throughout Massachusetts in US.

"Her passion for craft beer and experience in the non-profit world are going to help us take the Guild to the next level," Martin added.

Kristen Sykes, who is a certified beer judge and the founder and president of the Boston Area Beer Enthusiasts Society, has been homebrewing since 2002.

Sykes, in her new role will organize the Mass Brewers Guild Fest as well as assist in launching Massachusetts Beer Trail, an advocate for Guild legislative priorities at the State House in the US.
