Twisted Pine Brewing Company began 2013 with a plan to add four new markets to their distribution network. That plan has quickly turned to action as Iowa received its first shipment in early March, a loaded truck left for North Dakota earlier this week, and now the brewery’s products are on their way to California’s capital, CraftBeer.com reported on March, 27.

Distribution in the newest territory will be handled by Mussetter Distributing, a family-owned company that has been servicing the greater Sacramento area and northern California since 1976. Once a top distributor of mass-produced beer brands, Mussetter shifted gears in 2010, refocusing on high-quality craft beers, and its efforts were applauded with a nomination for the Brewers Association’s Craft Beer Distributor of the Year award in 2012.

A wide range of Twisted Pine products will be available throughout the area immediately, from banner beers such as Hoppy Boy IPA, Honey Brown, Billy’s Chilies and Raspberry Wheat to prized specialties like the multi-award-winning Big Shot Espresso Stout, Hoppy Knight and Ghost Face Killah (the spiciest beer in the world!).

Based in Boulder, Colorado, Twisted Pine was founded in 1995 and has been hand-crafting award-winning ales ever since. 2012 was a particularly fruitful year on the competition circuit, with the brewery taking two medals at the Colorado State Fair, another five from national events (including two from the GABF) and its first European Beer Star.
