The historic Walkerville district of Windsor may also soon be known as the city’s brewery district, as new start-up Midian Brewing is getting set to join Walkerville Brewery in the area next year, Canadian Beer News reported on December 10.

Planned to open in early 2014 in Walkerville, Midian intends to launch with two flagship beers – “a lagered ale fermented at lager temperatures for a clean, smooth finish, and a dark beer crafted using huskless German chocolate malts.” Additional brands including “pilsners, lagers, porters, stouts and limited edition barrel-aged beers” will follow as the brewery gets established.

Once up and running, Midian plans to sell its beer out of an on-site retail store, as well as on draught at select locations in Southern Ontario.
