| E-Malt.com News article: USA, NJ: Beach Haus brewery expanding to produce 10 times more beer
East Coast Beer Co., the Point Pleasant Beach-based maker of Beach Haus beer, will boost its production and varieties once settled into its new microbrewery in Belmar, Asbury Park Press reported on February 21.
The company, which recently released an exterior rendering of the microbrewery, will begin remodeling the space that formerly housed Freedman’s Bakery in Belmar as soon as the blueprints receive final approval from the borough. It should open by the end of this year, said Katrina Foster, a company spokeswoman.
“They really want to keep the Jersey Shore look and feel because that’s what their brand is,” she said. “It’s going to be very reminiscent of what the Beach Haus brand looks like – fun, laid back, like their beers Winter Rental, Kick Back.”
The company will not know the final cost of remodeling until it finalizes its plans, Foster said.
The architect described the exterior of the 15,000-square-foot, two-story microbrewery as “industrial chic,” which features brick walls, ceiling-to-floor windows and V-shaped columns. The interior will feature a four-vessel brewing system and tasting room, where customers may try samples of unique styles from taps on a small bar, she said.
The company produces four styles under the Beach Haus name as well as 2,500 barrels of beer per year, all at a brewery in Rochester, NY. It plans to add to its existing lineup while also boosting production by roughly tenfold to 25,000 barrels of beer per year in its new facility. However, it might take three to six months to fully migrate the operation, so it does not expect to achieve that goal during the first year, Foster said.
“The first year is really going to be a lot of trial, just getting everything working and working out all the variables in the brewing,” she said.
MB1 Capital Partners, a real estate investment company based in Wall, owns the brewery. Chris McCallion, a co-owner of MB1 Capital Partners, also serves as a co-partner of East Coast Beer Co.
