The oil boom is affecting businesses outside of the Permian Basin as well. The Big Bend Brewery Company, based in Alpine, is expanding their operations just to keep up with demand. They opened just over a year ago in December of 2012. They currently have five accounts in the Midland area and say they have received requests for several more, CBS7 reported on April 17.

"The problem, the good problem to have is we can't make enough beer to fulfil everyone that wants to get it. So, we're doing the expansion right now and we want to get cans into the market, into Midland and El Paso as well," said Richard Fallon, the General Manager of Big Bend Brewing Company.

They are adding new brewing tanks capable of growing production five times over.
