E-Malt.com News article: USA, NY: Utica-based F.X. Matt Brewing announces expansion plans

Utica-based F.X. Matt Brewing has announced plans to expand the aging and fermenting process of the brewery with an investment of about $3.5 mln, Drinks Business Review reported on May 30.

According to the company, which annually brews about 350,000 barrels of beer, the expansion will take place on Edward Street right across from the brewery and will see the addition of six tanks.

The tanks are expected to add a capacity of about 100,000 barrels.

Prior to the commencement of construction, a zoning change is required to be approved and the area needs to be re-zoned so as to declare it industrial, as part of the project.

F.X. Matt Brewing CEO Nick Matt said the project is slated for completion by mid 2015.
