Kalamazoo's newest microbrewery, Boatyard Brewing Co., will hold its grand opening this month, Mlive reported on June 12.

The grand opening for Boatyard Brewing Co., 432 E. Paterson St., will start at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 21, company officials announced this week. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will start at noon.

Boatyard's regular hours will be from 2 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays and noon until 9 p.m. on Saturdays.

The brewery, located a few blocks north of Bell's Eccentric Cafe, includes an 1,800-square-foot production facility and a 1,400-square-foot tap room, which has seating for 40 to 50 people. The brewery has a 10-barrel brewing system. The brewery distributes its beers through Imperial Beverage.

Owners Brian Steele and Dan Gilligan plan to produce about 1,400 barrels of beer this year.
